Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue Taylor is an American actor and producer who is best known for the roles she played on the television series Ray Undercover Brother, The Mentalist and the television show The Mentalist. She graduated with a B.A. from African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting from Tisch School of acting at New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer working in the fields of theater, film and television. She started acting on stage and went onto appear in mainstream, independent and TV series. She became famous as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico, and also appeared on BET's epic series The Book of Negroes. Both of the roles she was praised by critics and received numerous nominations and awards, including the Television Critics Choice Award for Best Actress. She made her professional acting debut as Ariel on the stage in The Tempest in 1995. On Broadway she was a part of the cast on stage in Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Seeking the Genesis and Joe Turner's Come and Gone. Her most well-known work is her roles in the films Men of Honor and The Caveman's Valentine The Express & The Help. For her work on television she's been recognized for her role as a regular character on ABC's drama about cops High Incident.
